In an attempt to save their automatic BCS bid, the Big East conference has invited recent NCAA powerhouse Boise State University. On thursday, the Idaho State Board of Education gave the university permission to join said conference. The biggest issue facing the University is the fact that the Big East Conference is in the eastern part of the country. A western division of the Big East would need to be made in order to accommodate Boise State.
Boise State has blue turf which is cool, but they're pretty far away from every other Big East team. This post is beautifully written by the way.
ReplyDeleteThe distance could be a problem for the conference, but if that is worked out, the move will be successful.
ReplyDeleteBoise State's lack of proximity to the rest of the Big East Conference could cause future problems.
ReplyDeleteBesides the distance from the schools in the league it will be a successful move.
ReplyDeleteNatty Champ here we come!!! It will be interesting to see if the Big East maintains it's BCS AQ when it comes up for review in the next few years.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Besides the distance, the league is definitely going to benefit from this decision.
ReplyDeleteThis is just another example of the money driven conference executives. They abandon any integrity in their leagues by inviting schools to join that make no geographical sense.
ReplyDeleteThe distance overall shouldnt cause too many problems. Either way its a good idea
ReplyDeletethe executives are ruining the game. the distance is a contributing factor as well.
